How Much Should You Spend On Your Mitre Saw?

Pricing is very difficult when it comes to buying a mitre saw. For starters there is such a big range of prices available that it can be difficult to know what you should settle for. Obviously the more expensive an item is the better the quality will be, and if you want something that will last for several years you are better off opting for a more expensive item.

But you also need to think about your budget. When you set out to buy a mitre saw – or indeed any other piece of DIY equipment – it pays to think about what your budget will stretch to. Have you got a three figure sum in mind or is that a bit too expensive for your needs?

Just to give you a rough idea of what to expect, we did a Google search for the purposes of writing this article. We searched for ‘prices for mitre saws’, just to see what would come up.

This resulted in three main priced items being revealed fairly high up in the search results. One was priced at £99.95, one was priced at just £39.89 and the third one came in at a whopping £420.95. All were on sale at various well known websites – many of which are featured on this site for you to click through to – and two of them were well known names in the mitre saw area.

As you can see the prices really do vary by an awful lot, and this means you have to consider what your budget will stretch to. Obviously if you are only going to be using it once to make a few odd cuts for a home DIY project, there is no point spending £420.95 on a mitre saw. You would be better off with the cheapest model at £39.89. However if you think you might use it again in the future you will be advised to opt for the slightly more expensive one.

If you are a keen DIYer and you know you will always be using it, you might be able to justify spending the higher amount on your new mitre saw. Only you can answer this question in the end, and you must be sure you will be satisfied with the saw you buy.

Mitre saws can be extremely useful things to have, but you need to make sure you get your money’s worth.
